Government Polytechnic College, Agar-Malwa was established in July 2017 with the vision of providing quality technical education to the youth of the region. The institution was set up as an Government Institute, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal, the Technical University of Madhya Pradesh.

Since its inception, the college has emerged as a leading government technical institute in the Malwa region. Strategically located on the Ujjain-Kota Highway, the campus spreads across 10 acres of lush green land, offering a peaceful and motivating environment for learning, innovation, and holistic development.

The college infrastructure has been designed to support modern technical education. It is a fully Wi-Fi enabled campus with excellent road connectivity, making it accessible to students from nearby towns and cities. Over the years, the institute has built facilities including a spacious playground, modern hostels (separate for boys and girls with a capacity of 100 students each), and secured living spaces to ensure comfort and safety.

From its foundation years, the college has focused on practical-based learning. It houses well-equipped laboratories for Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication, and Civil Engineering, providing students with hands-on experience under the guidance of highly qualified faculty members.
